Elsa
is the proverbial bridesmaid of our kennel. She has
several points, but many more major reserves. Her
greatest claim to fame was being RWB at the Basset
Hound Club of America Western Regionals in July of
2001.
She
is also quite accident prone. A stick wedged in the
roof of her mouth caused major damage and the eventual
removal of all of her teeth on one side of her mouth.
That basically ended her show career. Her future is
still bright in the obedience ring. She has one qualifing
leg towards her Companion Dog degree, and we hope
to achieve her title by the end of the summer.
Her
true talent has shown through in the whelping box.
She was bred to Dual Ch. CJ's Keepin' The Faith in
early 2003 and produced a fantastic litter of nine.
Several puppies were placed into show/performance
homes and should make appearances in the near future.
Ellie Mae went back into competition in the obedience ring in July of 2004. She acquired her Companion Dog Degree very quickly. She received her third leg by going High In Trial at the Basset Hound Club of Portland Specialty with a solid score of 188 ½. Ellie Mae's CD is the ninth obedience title earned on one of our dogs, the seventh on a basset hound. She is also a second generation obedience titleholder as her mother also earned her CD title. |
