Karbo was a "closet dog" for several months until he grew up. While he was waiting, we started him in obedience work in December 2005. All the waiting was worth it, as he started like gang-busters in February of 2006. He garnered all of his points, including four majors and two specialty wins, from the Bred by Exhibitor class and finished in September of 2006. He also excelled in obedience and completed his Companion Dog Title in three shows with two High In Trials by August 2006. His achievements earned him a trip to Gettysburg to compete at the 2006 National Specialty. He not only made an appearance in the breed ring, but he competed in Rally, and gained his Rally Novice Title; Obedience, and won the Kay Green Challenge Trophy for highest scoring dog with another title with a fine score of 196 out of 200, and he competed in the tracking test. Although Karbo missed the final turn and did not earn his title at the nationals, we were successful in early November. Despite having to wade though ankle deep water, he courageously followed his designated track to that end glove, thus earning his tracking dog title. We are so proud our or boy earning his fourth title in one year.
Not wanting to sit back and relax, Karbo continues to train in higher levels of Tracking and Obedience. He has gained two more Rally titles so far in 2007, and has started Agility classes. |
